For this project, we modernised a site’s ageing WIN-PAK access control security system, which had reached end of life and was no longer supported. With panels and parts becoming obsolete, the client faced mounting maintenance issues and potential downtime, putting secure areas at risk.
The challenge
The existing access control system was critical to daily operations, meaning any upgrade had to be completed without interrupting access or leaving areas unprotected. The goal was to deliver a seamless transition to a smarter, more maintainable solution.
Our solution
Hybrid installed a new Paxton Net2 Pro access control system, providing full control and monitoring from a central security PC.
Key works included:
- Replacing all old readers with Paxton P50 readers for reliability and consistency.
- Installing new Paxton access control panels and rewiring mains supplies.
- Fitting two new door access control systems at the Secondary Tunnel Service Building (STSB), complete with new cabling, push-to-exit buttons, breakglass units, and maglocks.
- Phased commissioning to ensure all areas remained accessible and secure during the upgrade.
