Things may not have gone to plan for Harry’s boys, but thanks to the Hybrid AS team, 2,000+ fans in Manchester had the best seats in the house for every game. We helped convert a disused warehouse into the Carling World Cup fanzone in time for kick off.

Our Asset Solutions team was approached by Connecting Dots Group, specialists who curate, operate, and activate cultural activity, to turn an old disused warehouse into Manchester’s Carling World Cup fan zone.

The project involved installing a number of systems that would safety proof the warehouse enable the space to be turned into a fan zone, including:

  • Fire Alarms
  • CCTV
  • Emergency Lighting
  • Small Power
  • Lighting & Ambient Lighting
  • Distribution
  • 3 Phase outlets for Event systems.

And it was a huge success. Following installation of the above services, the venue opened on time and on schedule to host 2,000+ fans to enjoy the FIFA world cup, becoming the city’s go-to spot for watching the games.

Our involvement was part of a wider plan of cultural activations that would reinvent and add integral social and economic value to forgotten corners and neighbourhoods, while demonstrating the value of meanwhile use for vacant spaces.
